How Flash Facts Bake Science into Fiction In between the riveting panels of Flash 105, we are treated to seemingly irrelevant yet compelling facts and observations about nature; birds, fish, insects, etc. Their inclusion is sometimes tangentially related (not always), but apparently, the main purpose of them was to be able to truthfully claim some educational value to parents, who were the ones that would buy comic books for their children. In the process of doing so, Flash Facts bridge the gap between science and spectacle, providing an early look into the genre of science fiction within this medium.
